Maurice Golden was elected as a Member of the Scottish Parliament for the North East Scotland Region in May 2021.
He is a member of the Constitution, Europe, External Affairs and Culture Committee and is a substitute member on the Delegated Powers and Law Reform Committee.
He also currently sits on several Cross Party Groups including the Armed Forces and Veterans Community; the Circular Economy; the Creative Economy; the Independent Convenience Stores; the International Development; the Nordic Countries and the Wellbeing Economy.
He was previously elected as an MSP for the West of Scotland Region in 2016.
Maurice has a long history of service to the Conservative Party. In addition to having previously stood for election to Westminster in the 2008 Glenrothes by-election, Maurice also served as Chairman of East Renfrewshire Conservative & Unionist Association as well as the Deputy Chairman of the Scottish Conservative & Unionist Party.
Maurice previously worked for Zero Waste Scotland where he helped promote the circular economy; an issue he remains passionate about and advocates in his role as an MSP.
